Effective Date: August 2026
Welcome to Africa Market Intelligence (“AMI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the AMI website, the Africa Market Operability Index, our dashboards, reports, and related services (together, the “Service”), located at our website and any associated subdomains.
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please discontinue use of the Service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, requesting access, or otherwise using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms, along with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you are accessing the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Purpose of the Service
AMI provides market intelligence products — including the Africa Market Operability Index (“AMOI”), country and sector assessments, investment due diligence support, risk analysis and forecasting, early warning monitoring, and interactive dashboards — for governments, investors, asset managers, multinational corporations, development finance institutions, and financial institutions.
The Service is provided for informational and decision-support purposes only. It does not constitute investment, legal, financial, or other professional advice (see Section 8).
3. Eligibility and Accounts
The Service is intended for institutional and professional use. By requesting access, you confirm that you are acting in a professional or institutional capacity and are at least 18 years of age.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must notify us promptly at partnerships@africamarketintelligence.com of any unauthorized use of your account.
We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe an account has been compromised, misused, or used in violation of these Terms.
4. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, all content available through the Service — including the AMOI methodology, scores, ratings, country and sector assessments, dashboards, reports, graphics, logos, and website design — is the property of AMI or its licensors and is protected under applicable intellectual property laws.
You may:
- View and use AMI content internally, for your own institutional decision-making.
- Share limited excerpts of published assessments with proper attribution to AMI.
You may not:
- Reproduce, republish, or redistribute AMI scores, ratings, or reports without written permission.
- Sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit AMI content or the underlying methodology.
- Use automated means to scrape, copy, or extract data from the Service.
- Remove or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notice.
Where a client has purchased a license granting broader rights to redistribute or embed AMI content, the terms of that license agreement govern and take precedence over this Section for that client.
5. Acceptable Use
By using the Service, you agree that you will not:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable sanctions or export control laws.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, data, or accounts belonging to others.
- Upload or transmit malicious code, or interfere with the security or functioning of the Service.
- Misrepresent AMI scores or assessments, or present them out of context in a misleading manner.
- Submit false, misleading, or harmful information through our contact or access request forms.
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to derive our proprietary scoring methodology from published outputs.
6. Accuracy of Information
AMI assessments combine artificial intelligence, human analyst review, and independent evaluation. We take reasonable care to ensure our ratings and commentary are evidence-based and current as of their publication date.
Markets, regulations, and institutional conditions change continuously. AMI makes no guarantee that any score, rating, or assessment is complete, error-free, or reflective of present-day conditions at the time you rely on it. Users should treat AMI outputs as one input among several and verify time-sensitive facts through official or primary sources before making decisions.
7. External Links and Third-Party Content
The Service may reference or link to third-party sources, including news coverage and government publications, for context. We do not control and are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or practices of any third-party content or website.
8. No Professional Advice
Nothing on the Service constitutes legal, investment, financial, engineering, or other professional advice, and nothing should be construed as a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any investment or to take any specific commercial or policy action.
Users should seek independent, qualified professional advice before making investment, regulatory, or strategic decisions, and should not rely solely on AMI outputs for such decisions.
9. Subscriptions, Fees, and Access
Access to certain AMI products, including full AMOI scores, dashboards, and custom analytical work, requires a paid subscription or engagement governed by a separate order form or client agreement. Where these Terms conflict with a signed client agreement, the client agreement governs for that client’s engagement.
We reserve the right to modify pricing, features, or availability of any product with reasonable notice to active subscribers.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AMI shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from:
- Your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
- Reliance on any score, rating, forecast, or assessment published through the Service.
- Investment, policy, or commercial decisions made in reliance on AMI content.
- Temporary interruptions, downtime, or errors in the Service.
Where a client agreement specifies different or additional liability terms, those terms govern for that engagement.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold AMI harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law.
12. Confidentiality
Non-public AMI content made available to you through a paid subscription or engagement, including underlying evidence and methodology detail, is confidential and provided solely for your internal use, unless a separate agreement grants broader rights.
13. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy included in this handbook, which explain how we collect, use, and protect personal information, and how we use cookies and similar technologies.
14. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, misused AMI content, or created risk to AMI, our clients, or other users. Termination of a paid subscription is governed by the applicable order form or client agreement.
15. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be published on this page with a revised effective date. For material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by email to registered account holders before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes have been posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which AMI operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any client agreement may specify a different governing law and forum for that engagement.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
18. Contact Us
